Beyond music, Elvis and The Sweet Inspirations shared a close friendship. Myrna Smith recalled a touching moment when he nervously asked her to dance—his shyness revealing a more personal side of the superstar.
The group remained by Elvis’ side until his final years, performing over 1,000 shows together. Myrna contributed to his 1976 albums before passing away in 2010 at age 69.
