The family of five, including three children, killed on a tour helicopter that crashed into New York Citys Hudson River have been identified
A family of five—a couple and their three young children—tragically died in a helicopter crash into New York City’s Hudson River, along with the 36-year-old pilot. The victims were Agustín Escobar, head of Siemens Mobility Spain, his wife Merce Camprubi Montal, and their children aged four, five, and eleven.
The family had arrived from Barcelona earlier that day and were on a tour over NYC when the helicopter, reportedly low on fuel and facing technical issues, spiraled into the river near Lower Manhattan. Moments before the crash, the pilot had warned of running out of fuel.
Photos taken just before the flight show the family smiling together, highlighting the depth of the loss. The tragedy has shaken the community, as investigators work to uncover the cause and emphasize the importance of safety in aerial tours.
