Liz Standley, a volunteer at Dallas Animal Services, regularly shares videos of adoptable dogs on her social media to help them find homes.

During one of her visits, while handing out treats to the pups, Standley spotted Cutie watching her with a soft, endearing smile.

“She was sitting there so calmly with this sweet little smirk,” Standley told The Dodo.

Moved by Cutie’s gentle demeanor, Standley opened her kennel to offer her some love.

Cutie curled right into her lap, tail wagging happily as she soaked up the affection. She kept smiling as if to say, “Thank you.”

Captivated by her charm, Standley felt compelled to share Cutie’s story online. She posted a video of her on TikTok, hoping it would reach someone who could give her a forever home.

Not long after, another volunteer told Standley about Cutie’s past.

She had been found during a freezing cold snap in Dallas, struggling to survive the bitter weather while searching for shelter.

Standley was deeply moved by Cutie’s ability to still smile and trust people despite everything she had endured.

“The fact that this dog can still be joyful and full of love after all she’s been through—it just shows how incredibly resilient animals are,” Standley said.

Cutie Finds Her Forever Home

Standley hoped the TikTok video would help connect Cutie with a loving family.

She kept checking the shelter’s website, and soon noticed Cutie’s profile was no longer listed.

Since volunteers don’t always get updates, Standley wasn’t sure what had happened—until she got a message that warmed her heart.

Cutie’s new family had seen her TikTok video and were instantly drawn to her. They said her smile reminded them of their previous pup.

Now renamed Frida, Cutie is thriving in her new home.

She loves snuggling under warm blankets and finally knows what it means to feel safe and loved. She’ll never be cold or alone again.
